Felicia C. Brechtel is the firm's environmental analyst and public agency paralegal. Her training and background in environmental sciences, experience working for environmental consulting firms, and knowledge of core environmental laws makes her a key member of the firm's Public Agency and Land Use Department. Ms. Brechtel has been with the firm since 1986.
Ms. Brechtel reviews environmental documents for adequacy and has assisted with a variety of land use cases including Endangered Species Act matters, commuter rail planning, habitat restoration, park planning, neighborhood preservation, and state environmental impact report and federal environmental impact statement ("EIR/EIS") analysis. She is an expert at obtaining and reviewing public documents and local regulations. She provides efficient access to documents and information, while working closely with the supervising attorney. She assists with a broad range of projects, including projects being processed before planning commissions, design review boards, city councils, and the County Board of Supervisors. She is also adept at assisting with Coastal Commission matters as well as cases concerning water and air quality, solid waste, water reclamation, and recycling.
Ms. Brechtel is active in the environmental professional community as a member of the State Board of Directors of the Association of Environmental Professionals.
